Katie and Alex’s June wedding at Rosebrook Lodge in Bretton Woods combined an elegant, nature-inspired design with one of New Hampshire’s most memorable mountain settings.
Their ceremony and reception took place at Crystal Hills, the event space inside Rosebrook Lodge. Cornflower blue, dusty blue, sage green, ivory and gold created a refined palette inspired by the surrounding White Mountains.
The day also brought changing mountain weather and a rain decision that needed to be made before guests traveled up the gondola.
Because a complete backup plan was already in place, Katie and Alex remained focused on getting married while their planner and vendor team managed the transition behind the scenes.

A Rosebrook Lodge Wedding in Bretton Woods
Rosebrook Lodge is located at Bretton Woods in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Guests reach the mountaintop venue by gondola, making the journey to the wedding part of the experience.
Katie and Alex held their celebration in Crystal Hills, Rosebrook Lodge’s wedding and event space. Its large windows, warm wooden interior and mountain views gave the couple a beautiful option regardless of the weather.
The gondola and elevated setting make a Rosebrook Lodge wedding unforgettable. They also create logistical considerations that do not exist at a traditional wedding venue.
Guests, vendors, florals, rentals and entertainment equipment all need to reach the venue within carefully planned transportation windows. Weather can affect the outdoor ceremony location as well as the movement of people and materials up the mountain.
Katie and Alex embraced the experience while trusting their planning team to manage the details required to make it work.
Getting Ready at the Omni Mount Washington Resort
Katie and her wedding party spent the morning getting ready at the Omni Mount Washington Resort.
The historic resort provided an elegant setting for the beginning of the wedding day and kept the wedding party close to the gondola transportation needed to reach Rosebrook Lodge.
Wedding AffHairs completed hair and makeup, creating a polished look that complemented the refined but natural wedding design.
Getting-ready timing was especially important because reaching Crystal Hills required more coordination than moving into another room at the resort. Hair and makeup, photographs, personal items and gondola transportation all needed to remain on schedule.
A Cornflower Blue, Sage Green and Gold Wedding Palette
Katie and Alex chose cornflower blue, dusty blue, sage green, ivory and gold for their June wedding.
The soft blue and green tones reflected the mountain landscape, while ivory and gold elevated the design and brought warmth to the reception.
The colors felt connected to the White Mountains without making the celebration overly rustic. This allowed the couple to create an elegant Rosebrook Lodge wedding that still felt natural within its surroundings.
Custom stationery from Impress Me Designs introduced the visual identity before the wedding and carried it through the day-of paper details.
A Moss-Covered Ceremony Aisle With Daisies
Katie and Alex’s ceremony design incorporated a moss aisle runner lined with daisies.
The moss and simple white flowers brought a natural, woodland quality to the ceremony without competing with the mountain views. The design felt intentional and distinctive while allowing the setting to remain the primary backdrop.
Wayne Sevin officiated the ceremony, which included a meaningful wine ritual.
Katie and Alex also wanted to pop a bottle of champagne for their wedding photographs. Chris Keeley Photography captured the celebratory moment along with the surrounding scenery and personal details of the day.
Making the Rain Decision at Rosebrook Lodge
Mountain weather can change quickly, even when the forecast initially appears favorable.
On the day of Katie and Alex’s wedding, rain began moving toward Rosebrook Lodge. The outdoor ceremony plan required a decision before guests and vendors completed their gondola transportation.
At a gondola-access wedding venue, waiting until the final few minutes is not a realistic option. Once guests begin traveling up the mountain, changing the ceremony location becomes significantly more difficult.
Tracy monitored multiple weather sources throughout the day and made the decision to move the ceremony indoors while traveling on the gondola to meet Katie.
Because the communication plan had already been established, the venue and vendor team understood what needed to happen next. The ceremony setup was adjusted, the necessary vendors were informed and the timeline continued moving.
Katie and Alex did not need to make calls, direct vendors or evaluate the weather themselves.
They exchanged vows inside Crystal Hills with the rain and fog visible through the windows and the warm wooden interior surrounding their guests. Rather than diminishing the ceremony, the weather created an intimate mountain atmosphere.
Planning Around the Bretton Woods Gondola
A Rosebrook Lodge wedding requires a timeline built around gondola transportation.
Guests cannot all arrive at the ceremony location at once. Vendors need additional time to transport equipment, and larger items must be planned according to the gondola’s access requirements.
Every part of the timeline affects another:

- Guest gondola transportation affects the ceremony start.
- Weather decisions affect transportation and setup.
- Photography must account for mountain conditions and available daylight.

Navy and Gold Reception Details at Crystal Hills
Katie and Alex’s reception at Crystal Hills layered several shades of navy with gold accents.
Rectangular tables featured barcode navy linens paired with storm navy napkins. Round tables were dressed in navy sparkle linens with palace gold napkins.
Each place setting included a gold charger, while gold Chiavari chairs carried the metallic detail throughout the room. PEAK Event Services provided the linens and chairs.
The different textures prevented the navy palette from feeling flat or heavy. Gold introduced warmth and connected the tablescape to the reception lighting.
The combination created an elevated evening atmosphere while allowing the softer ceremony colors to remain part of the overall wedding story.
Elevated Florals and Candlelight
The Fuchsia Peony designed a combination of high centerpieces, low floral arrangements and garland-style tablescapes.
Using floral designs at different heights added movement to the room and gave each table its own visual interest. Candles brought warmth to the arrangements and connected the florals to the gold details used throughout the reception.
The varied centerpiece styles also allowed guests to experience the room differently from every angle without obstructing conversation across the tables.
Reception Lighting From Dinner to Dancing
Black Diamond Event Production provided DJ services and uplighting for the reception.
During dinner, amber uplighting created a warm glow that complemented the navy linens, gold details and candlelight. As the evening transitioned into dancing, the lighting changed with the energy of the room.
This transition was coordinated as part of the reception timeline.
Lighting affects more than how a room appears in photographs. It helps signal changes throughout the evening and can move guests from an intimate dinner atmosphere into a lively dance-floor experience.
Gold Animal Escort Cards
Each of Katie and Alex’s escort cards was paired with a small gold animal figurine.
The figurines helped guests locate their table assignments while also serving as keepsakes from the wedding. Their gold finish connected them to the reception design and charger plates.
It was an imaginative detail that performed a practical function while adding personality to the guest experience.
New Hampshire Mountain Table Names
Instead of using traditional table numbers, Katie and Alex named their reception tables after New Hampshire mountains and included the elevation of each one.
The idea connected the reception directly to Rosebrook Lodge and the White Mountains.
Because the celebration took place at a gondola-access mountain venue, the table names felt specific to Katie and Alex’s wedding rather than included simply for decoration.
A Wine Box Guest Book
Katie and Alex replaced a traditional guest book with a wine box and messages to be opened on a future anniversary.
Guests could leave personal notes for the couple to read later, transforming the guest-book tradition into an experience that would continue beyond the wedding day.
The wine box also connected naturally to the wine ritual included in their ceremony.
A Custom Mocktail Inspired by Louie
Katie and Alex included their dog, Louie, through a custom mocktail and personalized drink stirrers.
The drink menu gave guests another glimpse into their life together and allowed Louie to be represented as part of the celebration.
Personalized food and beverage details often become easy conversation starters because guests can experience them directly.
For Katie and Alex, the Louie mocktail added personality and playfulness to an otherwise elegant reception.
